Ameliorating, attacking, symptoms ALONE does/will not change UNDERLYING pathology only resurfacing again, as it has, in another virulent, mutated, social virus.

FIRST OF ALL--A FEW elementary, fundamental axioms...I hate doing this because to ME it seems like kindergarten, simplistic, didactic, an insult to everyone's intelligence, nonetheless...
MARX/MARXISM is a SCIENCE, science AND society, (name of earlier publication, journal), science IN society, (J.D. Bernal), science as a human construct, physics, ALL disciplines, including the "arts," as it is named SCHOOL OF ARTS AND SCIENCE in most university settings.
Then, a concept, category, employed by Marx/Marxism known as DIALECTICAL MATERIALISM, an enormous, complex, SUBJECT MATTER RELATED TO PHYSICS, PHILOSOPHY, MATERIAL, SOCIAL, QUANTITATIVE to QUALITATIVE CHANGE, CONTRADICTIONS WITHIN, ETC.
Human society AS A WHOLE represents a biological ORGANISM for species reproduction.

Nature, despite what mortals like to believe, does not give a damn about anything beyond reproduction.

All "science," applied technology, interwoven, intertwined, with spiraling social development, organization, production, distribution, entanglement.
Organized clan, tribal warfare, being a story of primitive human capital accumulation into larger associations which ALTER, manipulate, nature, reality, reflecting our species COMMON needs.
Humanity is unique, extrarordinary, in its ability to CONCEPTUALIZE, ABSTRACT, apply, MANIPULATE, NATURE on a GRAND SCALE reflecting our physical needs.
Humanity IS a real life miracle, most current example to ME being an EXPLORATORY ASTRONOMICAL HUBBLE SPACE craft PEERING, with ICONIC PHOTO/S, INTO DEEP SPACE, i.e., TIME!
But, OBJECTIVE SOCIAL RELATIONSHIPS, predicated on PRIVATE CAPITAL OWNERSHIP, PROFIT, self-AGGRANDIZEMENT, ACCUMULATION, CONSUMPTIVE CONSUMERISM, creates PROBLEMS AND SYSTEMIC CONTRADICTIONS.
It is and HAS BEEN a CONTRADICTORY SITUATION for the past couple hundred years or so and will NOT be resolved UNLESS/UNTIL THOSE OBJECTIVE RELATIONSHIPS FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE.
MATERIAL, PHYSICAL, EXISTENCE, HUNGER, DEPRIVATION, HOMELESSNESS, JOBLESSNESS, DESPAIR, INSECURITY, ANXIETY, INTIMIDATION, THREAT, TORTURE, DISPOSSESSION, MURDER, EXPLOITATION, WAR, WAGE AND OTHER SLAVERY, HARRASSMENT, RAMPANT DISEASE, ALL REPRESENT OBJECTIVE SOCIAL RELATIONSHIPS.
As an interesting exercise, do a thought experiment--ask, for example, why China did NOT go EAST across the Pacific in the mid 1400s when China send a LARGE naval fleet WEST towards the Indian Ocean and further??
Well, one obvious answer being China THEN, in the 1400s, saw NO reason to go EAST into unchartered waters since ALL geographic trading partners were WEST.
What would China's motivation be to risk a journey into the great unknown by sailing EAST into the Pacific?
However, the opposite existed for West European countries LOOKING WEST for CHINA across the Atlantic.
So, geographical accident EXISTED with major repercussions.
In hindsight, it is obvious at SOME point two different continents, civilizations, Eurasia, North/South America, separated by vast oceans INEVITABLY would come to realize one another exists.
From above, fast forward to make a second, more current thought experiment--what if NO hedge funds or derivatives existed NOW?
Would artificial pandemics, viruses, vaccines, digital incarceration, block chain, exist??
Even further, what if NO stock market existed, as previously was the case in ALL nationalized countries, state industries, from USSR to Egypt to Cuba to China.
So, as Marx famously said, the point being to CHANGE OBJECTIVE SOCIAL RELATIONSHIPS.
EXPANDING STATE/PUBLIC/COLLECTIVE OWNERSHIP, NATIONALIZING PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION, REPRESENTS FIRST STEP TOWARDS THESE GOALS, NATIONALIZE AND RATIONALIZE.
NO GREEN REVOLUTION POSSIBLE WITHOUT ABOVE FIRST.
The past 100 or so years since the 1917 RUSSIAN BOLSHEVIK REVOLUTION represents attempts by reactionary capitalist powers, private interests, GLOBALLY, TO OVERTURN THE USSR, extending to the NAZIs and WWII, which, instead, EXPANDED the domain of NATIONALIZATION, until the present.
