HEDGE FUNDS GALORE! BLUESTONE COAL, DUPONT/DOW

The upcoming 10th Annual World Middle East Hedge Fund Conference will be held in Dubai, where else, March 10, 2009.
Here's a choice EXCERPT, link following:

"...The survey, which was conducted amongst 269 institutional investors, fund managers and service providers from around the world and the Middle East, revealed that 39% of investors believe that the current depressed markets and heightened risk premia offer a great entry point for fresh investment. Unsurprisingly, the hedge funds themselves are even more optimistic, with 55% of hedge funds stating that the current environment offers exceptional opportunity..."

Meanwhile, the largest US, and, I believe, world's second largest, chemical industrial conglomerate, Dow Chemical, amongst MANY others, expands into the Middle East, Saudi Arabia.
The aborted Dow-Kuwait deal continues to receive some scrutiny, attention and low volume murmurings:

As a sidenote for those already grounded in reality as opposed to Nazi Citigroup Obooma fictional voodoo economics.
The real name of the game, of course, is greater capital concentration, consolidation and monopoly.
In 2007 speculation floated about a consolidation between the twin US chemical GIANTS Dow and Dupont.
It's something about which I have LONG wondered, given the above scenario.
An article appeared in 2007 about the subject, which included, of course, JP Morgan as a key player:

Now industrial share prices are artifically depressed.
It seems to me the logical moment and perfect excuse to consolidate Dow and Dupont. If not now, when?
This would create a giant, monolithic chemical conglomerate, a behemoth striding across the globe.
Depending on which source/chart one consults, Dupont slides somewhere between first and sixth place on the global chemical corporate scale, Dow second or so.
A combo between Dow and Dupont clearly would create THE largest, integrated world chemical corporation.

As another interesting EXAMPLE of these calculated processes, back in United Suckers and Asshole territory, West Virginia's Bluestone Coal was bought by another Russian oligarch's company, Mechel, for $425 MILLION INSTEAD OF $4 BILLION!
That is quite a difference in price spread:

But, John Helmer says more about the above Bluestone deal in the context of other matters.
Helmer does NOT believe the above was a good bargain.
However wonderful as is Helmer, normally, I think he MAY be wrong on this point.
It sounds like a bargain to me and our Nazi Citigroup Obooma Fuhrer is giving LOTS AND LOTS AND OODLES AND TONS of taxpayer subsidized dollars away to various private energy companies.
The Bluestone deal is undoubtedly suspicious, but, then, ALL, most, many are suspicious, manipulated arrangements, insider information, connections, etc.
So, Mechel MAY know something the rest of us do not:

Of course, our US Bluestone Coal deal is simply part and parcel of a much larger, grandieose, global scheme illustrated by the above and everything else I have had on previous blogs, i.e., entire countries and resources for sale at artifically depressed, bargain basement prices, created by an equal artificial, speculative bubble and its timed collapse, coordinated by the SAME Citigroup, JP Morgan, their international friends, associates, affiliates, interlocking directorates, shareholders, partnerships, through the GCC, Middle East money-go-round, revolving back door, ALL financed with help of United Suckers and Assholes taxpayer debt, mercenary armies, etc.

I will not even bother about the many fictional, nonsensical narratives surrounding Iraq and elsewhere.
Information and reality is readily available to anyone who chooses to look.
The only ones lulled to sleep in self-serving, questionable blissful denial and ignorance are the United Suckers and Assholes living in Nazi Citigroup Obooma's Alice in Wonderland Through the Looking Glass world.
