MORE context than single fact HIGHLIGHTED below, like, for example, ascendancy, dominance and proliferation of INDIVIDUAL AUTOMOBILE ownership, consumption, production, EXPORT, and, GLOBAL OIL transportation dependency.

Our PUBLIC transportation system, POST WWII, INTENTIONALLY REDUCED, STARVED, and/or eliminated, replaced by a PUBLICLY FUNDED EXPANDED HIGHWAY system, thus, subsidizing, enhancing, automobile dependence.

Car culture suburbs ensued, redundant real estate speculation, development, urban sprawl, farming, agricultural land, diminished, natural disaster and so on.

Automobile economics preceded by, once again, PRIVATELY OWNED BUT PUBLICLY SUBSIDIZED, 19th century RR expansion, its/their subsequent land speculation, and, THE primary cause of INDIGENOUS, native peoples, TRIBAL relocation, removal, annihilation, economic destruction.  

NOW, CHINA becomes a WORLD CLASS DUMPING GROUND, GARBAGE CAN, MORTGAGED TO INDIVIDUALIZED GAS GUZZLING COFFINS ON WHEELS and a high MORTALITY, MORBIDITY, RABID, economic system:
