In honor of Savas Metoikidis.
A poignant, eloquent, statement translated in multiple languages below, reported on other websites, as well.
Multiple translations of Metoikidis from his original Greek are NOT available elsewhere, which is why I chose this particular link.
I highlight his death BECAUSE Metoikidis does NOT represent an isolated event.
Metoikidis SPEAKS for OTHERS, elsewhere, a silent, voiceless, invisible, majority, who, perhaps, are not as eloquent, vocal, as is/was he.
I do NOT advocate SUICIDE as a POLITICAL solution to anything.
Death is an equal opportunity employer.
It comes to all and everyone in many ways without suicide.
But, ALSO, I DO NOT CONDEMN ONE'S PERSONAL CHOICE FOR SUICIDE.
It is one's own BODY which THEY POSSESS, own, to do with as one wishes, sees fit, necessary, DEPENDING ON CIRCUMSTANCES.
It is, perhaps, indeed, the last, final and ONLY thing one POSSESSES when SOCIETY abandons all responsibility to a normal, decent, existence and collective well being of their citizens and workers, when people/life become completely devalued, useless, throwaway, redundant, eaters, impoverished, collateral damage, etc.
SOMETIMES suicide represents the ONLY option, way out, to alleviate chronic suffering, physical, emotional, mental pain and anguish for those tortured in horrific, barbaric, conditions of war, prison, and, unfortunately, as well, personal circumstance and medical conditions:HERE
